I remember a day when it was cool to rep Africa and our Heritage...That is LOST these days...But not to all...Whether it's through Fashion, Art, Music, Literature, or even Lifestyle...This blog is dedicated to those individuals who give meaning to the saying..."You have to know where you came from...to know where you are going..." Jay Electronica Follow Up
The Jay Electronica concert was the first show of the NYC Summer Stage performances. And Boy was it a Show. Jay is very enlightened and has been doing this for a while. He speaks so much truth in his Lyrics and doesnt bite his tongue on issues he feels should be brought to light. He is also a very humble dude who took time to talk to fans and take pictures. He also let people who could rhyme in the crowd come up on stage. He said that if it wasnt for people letting him get a spot light in concerts and such, he wouldn't be at where he is today. I definitely respect him for that. A surprise guest appearance was made by Pharaoh Monch, that was dope! I met a couple of cool ladies called Funky Fannys, who were selling DOPE vintage gear for cheap. They definitely were supporting the movement. Stay tuned for more posts involving them, but u can check their website HERE. Also Monique from the fashion blog Swagger Paris was in attendance, be on the look out for Swagger New York, COMING SOON! Anyway take a look at some of the flix...Full album is here...

The show looked like a blast! And the fact that you got to speak with Jay was great. He is defintely my new favorite artist for sure. I really want to hear the rest of "Dear Moleskine" though lol.
